More than 250 people attended the traditional culinary fest in Lyaskovets. The event took place near the Lyaskovets Monastery on 6-8th of May 2022. The participants from Kozarevets and Lyaskovets prepared the traditional dishes banitza and patatnik. The guests from Romania presented local delicacies, typical for the region of Teleorman, where Videle is located: sarmale, cozonac,mici,ham, palinka,visinata,burta, pork fillet.

The Culinary fest was part of the Xth National Festival of the Sheep Breeders in Bulgaria.The event is focused on the traditional Bulgarian livelihood – sheep breeding and the traditional Bugarian culture and folklore. Near the Monastery of St. Peter and St Paul, the visitors had the chance to see sheep breeds, farmers competitions, museum exhibitions and culinary demonstrations.  

The Culinary festival is part of the “Tales of culture, history and nature” Project, funded by the Cross border cooperation Programme „Interreg V-A Romania - Bulgaria”, implemented by the Videle Municipality (Romania) in partnership with Lyaskovets Municipality. The Programme is co-funded by the EU within the European fund for local development.
